The musician who has three singles to her collection, performed before more than hundred of invited guest.
Kleyah and her dancing group put up an electric performance that left many people satisfied.
Speaking after the show the afro pop musician said African drum
audio was produced by local producer Emmanuel Mkono popularly known as
Nahreel and is a song which tells her love for Africa, Drums uniqueness
and also the impact of drums to people.
She said video of the song was done in South Africa by Justin
Compos and will start beaming on local televisions soon while on MTV
base this week.“In Africa we use drums in different ways , we use them
for sending massages to people in distance places, celebrating
ceremonies and recognising culture, drums are instruments that when you
hear, you feel something inside your body, they are believed to have
super natural powers, their vibration resonate through the human body
and tickles the soul awakening our sprit,’ she said.
“The drum is synonymous to the heartbeat they have the same pulses,
when we hear the sound of the drum, we tend to respond immediately but
in different ways”, she says.
The musician who holds a degree in communication further said when
some people hear the sound of the drum they can not stand still.
“The power of the drum is that when some people hear the sound of
the drum they can not stand still, their whole body start to shake and
they will move and they will dance to their fill because at that
instance their spirit, the drummers and the drums sprit combine as one”,
she said.
She said her aim is to make a breakthrough on the international scene at the same time remain relevant locally.
“ My aim is to make it international but I have to start it locally
because home popularity serves as foundation for international
exposure, this song African Drum has a local and international touch”,
she said.
Kleyah is an Afro Pop and Soul artist, her two other singles are Don’t Slay me and Msobe Msobe.
